Labrador Retrievers
- Labrador Retrievers are a member of the sporting group and with good reason. All Lab’s love to play ball, Frisbee or anything that lives up to their reputation of Retriever. They make great family dogs attributed mainly to mellow nature and great temperament with children & strangers alike…it’s no wonder they are the number breed in the US.
- This mellow nature, however, can lead to obesity which is quite common to Labradors. Owners know their strong inclination toward treats, pet food, people food, and sometimes any other object not related to food. There fun loving free spirited puppy like behavior usually matures around 3 years old. So early leash training is a most to avoid pulling when they get older.

- They range in size of 21 inches to 25 inch in height and weigh between 55 to 80 lbs. They have a longer life span which averages 12 -16 years. Labradors are generally a hearty and healthy breed with few problems. They can suffer from knee problems especially they heavier dogs which could like a bow in the leg.
- As with all dogs regular teeth cleanings are a must especially for older dogs. Their teeth can become just as sensitive as humans. Even though Labradors have shorter hair they do shed, so regular grooming is necessary…you could brush a Lab all day with them loving every minute.
- As with all pet services whether the Breeder you choose, the veterinarian, Professional Groomer, and boarding ensure you have thoroughly vetted the people. Visit the Groomer facility and staff; see exactly where your dog will sleep if boarding and find out how much time they will spend with your dog – feeding time, how often do they take dogs for a walk, etc.
