Golden Retriever
- Golden Retrievers are a member of the sporting group with its high intelligence and eager to please disposition, is one of the most popular breeds in the US second only to the Labrador Retriever..
- Golden’s range in size of 21 ½ inches to 24 inch in height and weigh between 55 to 75 lbs with an average life span of 10 -13 years. These dogs are generally a hearty and healthy breed with few problems. They can suffer from knee problems especially if they become too much of a couch potato.

Golden Retriever
- Golden Retrievers can have an on-off switch…alert and eager to please the hunter in the family or play all day with kids and family; then be just as happy to spend their evening curled up with a good movie with Mom. Retrievers need exercise to keep them healthy, fit and trim…plenty of this along with proper training can relieve some pent-up anxiety.
- This high anxiety and frustration is a stigma of Golden’s that can be altered with a little patience and corrective training if your dog is exhibiting this behavior.
- As with all dogs regular teeth cleanings are a must especially for older dogs. Their teeth can become just as sensitive as humans. Golden retrievers have longer hair so they do shed, regular grooming is necessary.
- As with all pet services whether the Breeder you choose, the veterinarian, Professional Groomer, and boarding ensure you have thoroughly vetted the people. Visit the Groomer facility and staff; see exactly where your dog will sleep if boarding and find out how much time they will spend with your dog – feeding time, how often do they take dogs for a walk, etc.
